A 32-year-old man died early Sunday after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 114 near Northwest High School in far north Fort Worth, according to authorities. Fort Worth police and fire crews responded to the scene just after midnight following reports of a pedestrian hit along the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Investigators say the man was walking in the roadway when a vehicle struck him and the driver fled without stopping. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding crews.
Police believe the vehicle involved may have sustained damage to the front end on the driver's side, and they are asking anyone with information to come forward. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has since identified the victim as a 32-year-old man, though his name has not been publicly released.
The hit-and-run remains under investigation by Fort Worth police as they work to identify the driver and vehicle involved.
