A pedestrian was fatally struck early Friday morning on Highway 199, also known as Jacksboro Highway, near Florence Drive in Fort Worth. Fire crews and police responded to the scene around 12:38 a.m. after reports of a serious collision involving someone on foot.
The pedestrian died at the scene, according to authorities. The stretch of Jacksboro Highway near Florence Drive, in the River Oaks area of Fort Worth, was shut down in both directions for several hours as investigators worked to piece together how the crash occurred.
