DALLAS, Texas - Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux has fired a senior corporal who was accused of fleeing from officers in a city vehicle during a prostitution investigation and later charged with evading arrest.
Senior Corporal Joshua Gonzalez, #10235, was terminated during a disciplinary hearing on August 24, 2026, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Police said Gonzalez was fired for engaging in adverse conduct related to his arrest for Evading Arrest or Detention in a Motor Vehicle and for failing to obey a lawful order issued by a superior officer.
Gonzalez had worked for the Dallas Police Department since August 2010 and was most recently assigned to the Intelligence Division.
The disciplinary action stems from an incident in October 2025, when Gonzalez allegedly fled from police during a prostitution investigation.
Investigators later used fleet information, video evidence and phone records to link Gonzalez to a City of Dallas vehicle that sped away from officers during the investigation.
Gonzalez eventually turned himself in to authorities in April 2026 to face the criminal charge.
Gonzalez had also previously been involved in an officer-involved shooting in January 2023.
The criminal allegation against Gonzalez is separate from the department's administrative disciplinary action.
