IRVING, Texas - Two women are facing felony charges after Irving police say they forced their way into a home, assaulted one of the occupants and damaged property during a late-night confrontation.
According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:31 a.m. on July 13th to the 1200 block of Belew Street near Carl Road after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.
Dispatch information indicated that two women had forced their way into the residence by entering through a window and breaking down an interior door.
When officers arrived, they found 58-year-old Olivia Deleon and 34-year-old Miranda Michelle Tovar inside the home arguing with a man and a woman, who were identified in the police report as the victims.
Investigators determined that Deleon and Tovar had arrived at the residence and were refused entry. Police say the two women then forced open a window and entered the home without the female resident's consent.
According to the police report, Deleon and Tovar then assaulted the male victim by striking him multiple times in the head. Officers observed visible injuries to the side of his head and his mouth.
The report states that the male victim is Deleon's spouse and that the two have been in a relationship for approximately eight years.
Investigators also allege the women intentionally damaged a door inside the residence while attempting to assault the female resident.
Deleon and Tovar were arrested and booked into the Irving Jail on charges of burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony.
Both defendants have since posted bond and been released from custody. Their criminal cases remain pending.
