Two People Die After Kayak Overturns in Private Pond in Far East Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas. Two people died Wednesday after a kayak overturned in a private pond in far east Fort Worth, authorities said.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, firefighters and Fort Worth police officers were dispatched at approximately 11:20 a.m. on July 15 to a water emergency in the 3100 block of Cooks Lane in Far East Fort Worth, near the Arlington city border.

When emergency crews arrived, they found an overturned kayak in a private pond.

Firefighters and paramedics attempted life-saving measures on the two individuals, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
