Irving Launches New Transit Service Following DART Route Changes

IRVING, Texas — The City of Irving has launched the Irving Connector, a new public transportation service designed to help residents impacted by the discontinuation of Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus routes 225 and 255.

Operated by Via Transportation, the Irving Connector also introduces The Loop at Las Colinas, a circulator service intended to improve mobility throughout the Las Colinas Urban Center.

The new transit service began operating June 10. To encourage riders to try the system, all rides were offered free during the first two weeks of service through June 24.

The Irving Connector operates daily using large passenger vans equipped with wheelchair-secured spaces and seating for up to nine passengers.

Unlike traditional on-demand transit services, reservations are not required. Riders can board at designated fixed stops and use Via Transportation's Citymapper mobile application to view real-time schedules and purchase fares.
