IRVING, Texas - An Irving man was arrested following a domestic disturbance early Monday morning at an apartment complex on Esters Road, according to the Irving Police Department.
Police said an officer responded around 12:47 a.m. on May 18 to a domestic violence call at the Fox Borough Apartments in the 1400 block of Esters Road.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim, Carlos Gutierrez, was involved in a verbal argument with his brother and roommate, Juan Gutierrez, who identifies as Kimberly Gutierrez.
According to police, Juan Gutierrez allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife during the argument and swung it at Carlos from about two feet away, causing the victim to fear serious bodily injury.
Authorities said Gutierrez also swung a cooking pot and a woman’s shoe at the victim, striking him and causing visible injuries to his face and leg.
Gutierrez was arrested and booked into the Irving Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving family violence.
Police said Gutierrez was later transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where bond was set at $50,000.
