77-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash With 18-Wheeler South of Springtown

PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A 77-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and an 18-wheeler south of Springtown, according to authorities.

Emergency crews responded at approximately 1:30 p.m. on May 8, 2026, to the 6100 block of North Farm-to-Market Road 51 at Veal Station Road.

Responding agencies included Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1, Parker County Emergency Services District No. 8, Parker County Hospital District EMS, the Parker County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said crews arrived to find a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the vehicle had been stopped at the Veal Station Road stop sign before the driver allegedly failed to yield the right of way to the 18-wheeler.

According to investigators, the truck driver was unable to avoid the collision.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified the deceased driver as 77-year-old Shrader Lynn Gant.

The crash remains under investigation.
