Allen Man Sentenced to 20 Years After Jury Hears of Multiple Sexual Assaults

Havin Lance Jones

FORT WORTH, TX — A 47-year-old Allen man has been sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after a Tarrant County jury found him guilty of sexual assault. Havin Lance Jones was convicted on April 21, 2026, following a trial that featured testimony regarding multiple victims.

The case was investigated by the Fort Worth Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Darren De La Cruz and Kobe Landry.

The Investigation and Trial

The primary investigation began in November 2023, when the victim reported that Jones had sexually assaulted her after she had fallen asleep. Detectives gathered evidence that supported the outcry, leading to the charges in Tarrant County.

During the punishment phase of the trial, prosecutors introduced "extraneous offense" evidence to demonstrate a pattern of behavior. The jury heard testimony that just four months after the initial report, Jones sexually assaulted a second woman in a similar manner in Collin County.

Sentencing

Following the presentation of the evidence regarding both incidents, the jury returned a sentence of 20 years in prison. Under Texas law, Jones will be required to register as a sex offender for life upon his release.
