IRVING, Texas — A domestic disturbance at an apartment complex across from Irving High School ended with a woman arrested on felony charges after police say she threatened her boyfriend with a knife, scratched him during an assault, and slashed the tires on his vehicle.

Irving police responded about 10:51 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, to the Tierra del Sol Apartments in the 1100 block of North O’Connor Road on a report of a domestic disturbance in progress.

When officers arrived, they found a woman in the parking lot armed with a knife and took her into custody, according to police.

Officers also detained the male victim while investigating.

Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Yuleidy Santiago-Guzman.

Investigators said Santiago-Guzman and the victim have been in an on-and-off dating relationship for five years and currently live together, establishing a domestic relationship.

According to police, the dispute began over items Santiago-Guzman believed the victim had stolen from her.

Police said the argument turned physical when Santiago-Guzman scratched the victim multiple times on his face, mouth and chest, causing visible injuries.

Investigators said she then retrieved a kitchen knife and displayed it to prevent the victim from leaving the apartment.

Afterward, police said Santiago-Guzman went outside and slashed all of the victim’s tires and scratched the body of his vehicle.

The victim recorded that portion of the incident on video and showed it to responding officers, according to police.

After reviewing the evidence, officers released the victim and arrested Santiago-Guzman.

She was booked into the Irving Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving family violence and criminal mischief for damage valued between $2,500 and $5,000.

Her bond was set at $35,000.

Authorities said an ICE hold has also been placed on Santiago-Guzman, and she remained in custody after being transferred to the Dallas County Jail.
