IRVING, Texas — A fast response by Irving firefighters helped keep a structure fire from spreading at a South Irving mobile home park Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 3:46 p.m. on January 7, the Irving Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at the San Villa Mobile Home Resort in the 1000 block of Shana Lane, near North Belt Line Road, south of Pioneer Rd.

Fire crews arrived within four minutes of dispatch. Engine 2 was the first unit on scene and immediately deployed an attack line, taking the lead on fire suppression. Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames and focus on protecting nearby homes in the tightly spaced community.

Fire officials credited the rapid response and coordinated effort on scene with preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring residences. No additional details on injuries or the cause of the fire were released.
