Beginning December 1, a section of the Promenade sidewalk near the new Fire Station No. 8 at 5601 Riverside Drive will be closed to accommodate construction of the station’s boathouse. The closure is expected to remain in effect through February 2026, weather permitting. Residents and pedestrians are encouraged to plan alternate routes to avoid the affected area. About the Fire Station No. 8 Project
The new $15.3 million Fire Station No. 8 is being built on 2.8 acres and will feature a 19,579-square-foot facility. The state-of-the-art station will provide ample space for current firefighting equipment and allow for future upgrades to fire safety technology. Project completion is anticipated in early 2026.
