Denton County, Texas - Between 2:32 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. on Friday, October 24th, Denton County Emergency Services District Nos. 1 and 2 responded to eight storm-related incidents, including two working structure fires.
At 2:38 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 1800 block of Elm Place in the Town of Northlake following reports of a roof fire with a family evacuating the home. A working fire was declared, and by 3:23 a.m., the blaze was extinguished. One family was displaced, and no injuries were reported.
At 3:00 a.m., crews were called to the 700 block of Plaza Lane in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Town of Argyle after a homeowner reported a burning smell in the attic. Firefighters located and contained a small attic fire, which was declared under control by 3:31 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Emergency response efforts were a collaborative effort across the metroplex throughout the night, and within our district was no exception. Denton County ESD extends sincere appreciation to Flower Mound Fire Department and Justin Fire Department for their assistance.
