DALLAS, TX — Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will officially launch its new Silver Line regional rail service on Saturday, October 25, 2025, providing a major transit connection across North Texas. The 26-mile line links Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Grapevine, and DFW International Airport, offering faster, longer-distance travel than the existing light rail system.

The Silver Line is designed to reduce congestion, connect residents to jobs and educational opportunities, and improve regional mobility. Riders can transfer seamlessly to DART Light Rail lines, local bus routes, Trinity Metro’s TexRail service, and DFW Airport terminals. Stations along the line were developed with community input, ensuring accessible, safe, and welcoming environments for all passengers.

Trains will operate every 30 minutes during weekday peak hours and every 60 minutes during off-peak times and weekends, running from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. The line features modern Stadler trains with comfortable seating, bicycle racks, overhead luggage storage, USB phone chargers, and ADA-compliant boarding.

“This is a regional investment that reflects years of planning to improve mobility, ease congestion, and prepare for future growth,” said DART President & CEO Nadine Lee. “The Silver Line connects key employment centers, neighborhoods, and the world’s third-busiest airport, providing access to opportunity and supporting economic growth across North Texas.”

DART Chairman Gary Slagel emphasized the focus on reliability and convenience. “With predictable schedules, modern trains, and seamless connections, the Silver Line is built to meet the needs of both daily riders and occasional travelers,” he said.

To celebrate the launch, DART will offer free Silver Line rides from October 25 through November 8. Each of the 10 Silver Line stations will host public celebrations on October 25, including live music, cultural performances, family-friendly activities, and community programming.

The Silver Line also connects to North Texas’ trail network, allowing passengers to combine transit with walking, biking, and recreation. Key destinations along the route include employment centers, shopping areas, and educational institutions such as The University of Texas at Dallas.
