North Richland Hills Man Arrested After Shots Fired Inside Bar

Arrested: David Callum

North Richland Hills police arrested a 53-year-old man Sunday night after he reportedly fired several rounds inside the Thirsty Turtle Bar and Grill on the 5300 block of Rufe Snow Drive.

Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m., finding that patrons had already restrained the suspect. No injuries were reported.

The man remains in custody at the North Richland Hills Joint Detention Center, and charges are pending. He is scheduled to appear before a judge Monday morning, at which time his name and booking information will be released.

UPDATE: 53-year-old David Callum of Fort Worth has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a weapon where prohibited in the shooting incident.

Callum reportedly became agitated when he presumed another patron of the bar was looking at him while watching Sunday night’s game between the Cowboys and Packers. An argument then began, at which time Callum produced a gun and fired off a round during the disturbance.
