Teen Arrested for Threatening Gas Station Customer with Handgun in Irving

Christopher Uribe-Hernandez

IRVING, TX — On Monday, September 15, Irving Police arrested a 17-year-old after he allegedly threatened a customer with a handgun at a Valero gas station in the 4000 block of N. Belt Line Road.

Officers responded to the scene after 18-year-old Joseph Iglesias reported that a young Hispanic male had displayed a firearm and said, “I’ll do you right here,” after Iglesias refused to buy him a vape. Iglesias was able to leave the store safely.

Police located the suspect, later identified as 17-year-old Christopher Uribe-Hernandez, and found a loaded Glock handgun in his pants pocket. After being read his Miranda rights, Uribe-Hernandez admitted he had the firearm in the store but denied pulling it from his pocket.

Multiple witness statements and video footage confirmed that Uribe-Hernandez had produced the firearm and made a credible threat, causing the victim to fear for his life. Because he is a minor, Uribe-Hernandez cannot legally possess a handgun.

He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
