FORT WORTH, Texas—A domestic altercation that began during a child exchange escalated into an armed confrontation, leading to one arrest.
On Thursday evening, August 28, Fort Worth Police officers responded to a fight at a residence in the 3400 block of Weber Street. The incident began as an argument between a couple, but more people arrived at the residence, and several men armed with weapons exited the home.
During the altercation, a woman was physically assaulted. As officers arrived on the scene, the suspects retreated inside the residence. After a brief standoff with Drug Recognition Unit (DRU) officers, police were able to detain several suspects.
64-year-old Joe Perez-Medellin has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
