DALLAS—Dallas Police Department officers are now authorized to wear cowboy hats as part of their on-duty uniform.
The department announced the change and provided a first look at officers from the Love Field Airport Unit wearing the new headwear. The move aims to bring "Texas style to Dallas skies," according to a department statement.
The police department is encouraging anyone interested in joining the team to apply on its website or to speak to a recruiter directly.
