On Saturday, July 5, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Fort Worth Police Department officers were in the area of E. Hattie Street and I-35W managing large crowds gathered near the OK Food Mart.
Initial reports indicated 50 to 100 individuals were setting off fireworks and blocking the roadway. While officers were in the area, shots were fired near New York Avenue and E. Annie Street. Responding officers found a woman who had been shot in the torso. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Several individuals loitering in front of the convenience store were detained, and officers worked to disperse the increasingly unruly crowd.
The incident remains under investigation.
