A reckless driver was taken into custody Sunday evening, June 22, after leading police on a pursuit that ended in a crash and foot chase.
A citizen flagged down White Settlement Police Officer Wiseman on South Cherry Lane to report an impaired driver operating a vehicle erratically. Officer Wiseman located the suspect's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, initiating a pursuit.
The chase continued onto Camp Bowie Boulevard, where the suspect lost control and crashed into the corner of a building. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by White Settlement police officers.
The incident was supervised by Sgt. Banner, with dispatch coordination provided by WEST COMM 911 Dispatchers Podsednik and LeGrand.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest and Detention in a Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated, and Fleeing the Scene of a Crash Causing Property Damage. No injuries were reported. The suspect remains in custody.
