The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning, June 15, 2025, in the 3700 block of N. Houston Street.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call and located two gunshot victims at the scene. Both were transported to area hospitals. One of the victims, identified as 19-year-old Anthony Rangel, later died from his injuries. The second victim is expected to survive.
A third victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle and is also expected to recover.
Investigators determined that the shooting took place during a party celebrating Rangel's 19th birthday. During the gathering, two women became involved in an argument over one of the victims. The situation escalated when unknown suspects arrived. During a physical altercation between one suspect and a victim, the suspect produced a handgun and opened fire, striking multiple individuals.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made.
A GoFundMe page has been created to assist Rangel's family with funeral expenses.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
