The body of a missing Azle man was recovered from Eagle Mountain Lake on June 14, 2025, following several days of search efforts led by the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) Law Enforcement Division.

The search began on June 11, 2025, around 12:16 p.m., after TRWD received a report that Ruben Fausone, 43, had not returned home following a fishing trip to Twin Points Park. Responding officers located Fausone’s unoccupied truck and trailer at the park.

At approximately 1:07 p.m. the same day, TRWD officers located his boat floating unoccupied on the lake.

Investigators determined that Fausone had texted a friend on the evening of June 10 at around 7:44 p.m. to inform them of his fishing plans. Surveillance footage confirmed that he entered Twin Points Park alone at 8:10 p.m., towing his boat and trailer. His cell phone last pinged near Auggie’s Bar and Grill, and witnesses reported seeing him at approximately 1:30 a.m. near the dock at the establishment.

The search continued with the assistance of Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens. On June 14 at approximately 7:00 p.m., law enforcement recovered a body near Pelican Island, north of where Fausone was last seen. The body was positively identified as Ruben Fausone.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remains ongoing.
