Irving Police Arrest Man on Child Indecency Charge; Immigration Hold Issued

Irving Police officers arrested 52-year-old Efren Torres-Armendariz on Monday night, June 9, 2025, at a residence in the 2600 block of W. Oakdale Road in South Irving following reports of child abuse.

Torres-Armendariz was booked into the Irving Jail at 10:46 PM and charged with Indecency with a Child (Sexual Contact), a second-degree felony in Texas. In Texas, a second-degree felony carries a potential punishment of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Conviction for this offense also typically requires lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Authorities also confirmed that Torres-Armendariz is an illegal alien and a Mexican National. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – Dallas/Fort Worth has requested an immigration hold. The ongoing investigation will determine the timeline for his deportation.

The Irving Police Department continues its investigation into the matter.
