Dallas Man Sentenced to 25 Years After 30-Mile Police Chase, Seizure of Guns and Meth

Charles Fisher

A Dallas County jury found 41-year-old Charles Fisher guilty on multiple felony charges after a high-speed pursuit and the discovery of firearms and a large quantity of methamphetamine. Fisher, a habitual offender, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on May 8, 2025.

The charges included:

  • Evading Arrest with a Vehicle

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (4–200 grams)

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

On August 4, 2023, Dallas Police Department’s Crime Response Team attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Fisher. Instead of complying, Fisher fled in his vehicle, initiating a pursuit that extended more than 30 miles. He was eventually apprehended by officers.

Upon arrest, officers recovered two handguns, 128 grams of methamphetamine powder, and approximately 1,000 pressed methamphetamine pills from Fisher’s possession.

Fisher’s criminal history includes prior convictions for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon — one in Dallas County in 2005 and another in Ellis County in 2015.

The case was prosecuted by Lead Prosecutor Michael Chang and 2nd Chair Mason Rodriguez. DA Investigators Bonita Morgan and Tom Naulty assisted in the case. The investigation was conducted by the Dallas Police Department.
