A 40-year-old man from Melissa was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Friday, May 2, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Allen Police Department responded to the incident in the 700 block of E. Stacy Road.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the male pedestrian was leaving a business located at 711 E. Stacy Road and walking southbound. While attempting to cross Stacy Road, he entered the westbound lanes, proceeded through the center median, and stepped into the eastbound lanes of traffic. According to police, the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way to oncoming vehicles and was struck by a dark-colored SUV.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.
Allen Police officers arrived swiftly and initiated life-saving measures. Fairview Fire Department personnel continued emergency medical aid upon their arrival. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:01 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as a 40-year-old male from Melissa.
The Allen Police Department’s Traffic Division is continuing to investigate this incident.
