On May 2, 2025, Dallas Police Sergeant Matthew Terry was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger, a state jail felony offense.
According to officials, Sergeant Terry, badge #8915, was off duty at the time of the incident. He has been with the Dallas Police Department since September 2006 and is currently assigned to the Central Patrol Division.
Following the arrest, Sergeant Terry was placed on administrative leave pending the results of an Internal Affairs administrative investigation.
