Transgender Suspect Arrested After Robbery and Assault of Security Guard at Irving Mall Macy's

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Irving Police responded to a theft in progress at Macy’s inside the Irving Mall, located at 3880 Irving Mall.

According to the police report, a suspect attempted to steal merchandise from the store and, during the attempted escape, physically assaulted a 27-year-old male loss prevention officer. Officers arrived shortly after and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was identified as Kyshawn Devore Winston, a Black "female" originally from Bossier City, Louisiana. The police report lists Winston as female, but previous arrest records in Bowie County indicate he was born male.

Winston was charged with Robbery, a second-degree felony, and Possession of Marijuana. The stolen merchandise included a Ralph Lauren toilette gift set and an Azzaro Men’s Elixir gift set, with a combined value of approximately $830.

Irving Police Officers Kevin Smith, Damien Wyrick, and Mirna Montenegro were credited with the arrest. Winston was booked into the Irving City Jail pending further legal proceedings.
