Drug Dealer Sentenced to 15 Years After Dallas Police Raid Trap House

Travis King Ellison

A Dallas County jury has found 49-year-old Travis King Ellison guilty of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, PG 1 ≥4G<200G, sentencing him to 15 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

The case began when Dallas Police officers took notice of a trap house in South Dallas, where a line of people at the side door scattered upon seeing a marked squad car. After further investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Just minutes before SWAT executed the warrant, officers observed Ellison entering the house wearing flame-printed shorts, a green backpack, and carrying a plate of food. Once SWAT cleared the residence, officers searched the green backpack and discovered approximately 60 grams of crack cocaine and 5 grams of methamphetamine, along with Ellison’s photo ID.

On the kitchen table, officers found the same plate of food Ellison had carried inside. Next to it was more crack cocaine.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Mason Rodriguez and Michael Chang, with investigative support from DA Investigator Eddie Lopez. The Dallas Police Department led the investigation.
