Trevor Hicks was taken into custody on Friday by the Fort Worth Police Department and now faces a murder charge for the death of his father, John Hicks, aged 61.

According to law enforcement officials, Trevor Hicks is currently being held at a Tarrant County jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings. Records from the jail indicate that his bail has been set at $150,000.

The fatal incident transpired at the Cortland Chisholm Trail Apartments, located in the 9100 block of Summit Oxbow Road. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that John Hicks was the victim of this tragedy. The office determined that he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting are still emerging, as the Fort Worth Police Department has not yet released the arrest warrant affidavit, which would shed light on the reasons for Trevor Hicks' apprehension. However, a log of the police call reveals that a 911 caller, identified as Trevor Hicks' mother, reported that her son had contacted her, informing her of the discovery of his father's lifeless body inside their apartment. John Hicks was found with gunshot wounds, and it was immediately apparent that his injuries were fatal.
