A Tarrant County jury has found 39-year-old Emmanuel Medina guilty of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced him to 60 years in prison.
The incident occurred on January 12, 2024, while Medina was working construction at an apartment complex in Arlington. He attacked the victim, grabbing her hair and pulling her into a closet where he sexually assaulted her while strangling her.
The victim testified during the trial about the terrifying ordeal, stating she feared for her life.
The Arlington Police Department investigated the incident and identified him as the suspect. A warrant was issued and he was arrested in Dallas in February, 2024. At the time of the crime, he was on parole.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Stephanie Simpson and Emily Dixon.
