A large fire at a landfill on Everman Parkway prompted a significant response from the Fort Worth Fire Department on Wednesday night, February 5, 2025.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., the Fort Worth Police Department transferred a 9-1-1 call reporting a large fire on top of a hill. The caller, unable to identify exactly what was on fire, initially believed it to be a structure. Crews were immediately dispatched, with Engine 22 being the first on scene in the 5800 block of Everman Kennedale Burleson Road. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the fire involved a landfill and not a building.

Additional crews were called in as the fire was declared a working outside fire. The Everman Fire Department was requested for mutual aid to provide a water tanker to assist at the scene.

A total of 43 fire department personnel worked through the night to contain the blaze, which was fully extinguished by 11:00 p.m. to ensure no risk of rekindling. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
