At the early hours of Thursday, January 30th, 2025, a funeral home van carrying two bodies became stranded in high waters near White Rock Lake. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM when Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to the scene at Goforth Drive and Eagle Trail.
Emergency responders arrived to find the minivan submerged in water up to its windows. While the driver and a passenger were safely removed, the two bodies inside the van remained trapped as the waters continued to rise.
As the water began to recede, first responders were able to approach the vehicle, attach a tow cable, and pull it to dry land. The bodies were then transferred to another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the situation was resolved without further incident.
