Dallas Police announced the arrest of 83-year-old Willie L. Jones, who had been wanted for a parole violation related to a sexual assault. Jones, who was located on January 16, 2025, was arrested after authorities confirmed he had warrants out of Dallas County.
While in custody, a DNA sample was taken from Jones, which led to a shocking revelation: he was linked to a murder that occurred over 40 years ago. On December 14, 1981, Virginia White, 81, was found murdered in her home at 4103 Furey Street in West Dallas (nearN. Westmoreland Rd.). Jones, who was 40 years old at the time of the murder, has now been charged with Capital Murder after DNA evidence confirmed his involvement in the crime.
Jones is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
