On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Irving Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 1900 block of Tameria Drive in South Irving, near Nimitz High School. Officers arrived at approximately 3:00 a.m., encountering 22-year-old Diego Peralto, who attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued and apprehended him, at which point Peralto resisted and struck a 25-year-old officer during the struggle.
Five officers were involved in handling the situation, and Peralto was ultimately taken into custody. He now faces multiple charges, including two counts of Assault of a Peace Officer, Evading Arrest Detention, and Resisting Arrest. Later that evening, Peralto was transferred from the Irving Jail to the Dallas County Jail.
