On Wednesday, October 23, at approximately 3:56 PM, Weatherford Fire and Police, along with PCHD EMS, responded to a major accident along Ric Williamson Memorial Highway near Sand Dollar Trail. Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling southbound drifted into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Both drivers involved in the accident were transported to a hospital for evaluation. Tragically, an 8-year-old boy in one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Andrew David Lance.
Weatherford police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
