Starting Thursday, October 17, 2024, Irving residents are encouraged to select their favorite concept design for a new 5,000-square-foot mural in the city's Heritage District. Public feedback will be accepted through October 27 via an online form and in-person during the Music on Main Concert Series at Heritage Park, located at 217 S. Main St. Concerts will be held on Friday, October 18, and Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
Each resident is allowed to submit one form, with the winning artist set to be announced in December 2024. Updates on the project will be available on the city's website and social media platforms.
The City of Irving invited artists to submit proposals for the mural, which will cover multiple walls surrounding a bridge at the entrance to the Heritage District. The mural will span approximately 5,113 square feet, transforming a key area of the district.
