A 19-year-old man, identified as Richard Curtis, was arrested for aggravated robbery after a failed attempt to rob a Marcos Pizza in Austin, Texas.
On October 16, 2024, Curtis entered the restaurant and handed a note to an employee, instructing them to remain silent and empty the cash drawer. He then revealed a firearm concealed in his waistband.
In a swift response, an employee restrained Curtis in a chokehold while another worker called 911. During the struggle, the manager intervened and was able to seize the firearm from Curtis. Reports indicate that the manager attempted to fire the weapon, but it malfunctioned.
