Shortly after midnight, a Sansom Park police officer stopped a green Mercedes-Benz AMG sports car traveling westbound on Jacksboro Highway at 119 mph—nearly three times the speed limit. The vehicle came to a stop in the 5200 block of Jacksboro Hwy after narrowly avoiding a crash.
Upon investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated and was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated due to having three or more previous DWI convictions. The Mercedes was impounded as part of the incident.
