Late on Thursday, March 14, 2024, around 11:15 pm, an Irving Police Officer observed two cars racing on -635. Taking immediate action, the officer initiated pursuit of one of the vehicles and an additional unit joined the chase. As the situation unfolded, the driver exited onto Valley View Ln, heading north.
About a half mile later, the driver came to his sences and stopped the vehicle at 3200 block of Valley View Ln and surrendered to the officers. Identified as 19-year-old Israel Mateus Meza II from South Irving, the driver was taken into custody.
Meza was charged with Racing on Highway and Evading Arrest Detention With a Vehicle. His bond was set at $11,000.
