Just before 2:00 pm on April 23, 2023, Grandview Fire Department, Johnson County EMS (AMR), Johnson County sheriff’s deputies and DPS troopers responded to a vehicle crash with ejection in the 11500 block of E. FM 916 near County Road 204.
Preliminary details indicate a juvenile male driver struck a tree and was ejected. When emergency responders arrived, they observed one vehicle involved and bystanders performing life-saving measures on the driver.
Medical personnel pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 17-year-old from Grandview.
Lanes of FM 917 were closed while law enforcement investigated the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. We will update this story when DPS releases additional information.
