Early in the morning on March 9, emergency services responded to a serious accident on Highway 67 near County Road 209 in Venus, Ellis County. The incident involved a pickup truck colliding with the rear of a semi-truck.
The 18-year-old male driver of the pickup succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital. The victim has been identified as a resident of the Keene area.
The Venus Police Department is leading the investigation into the crash.
"We're still in the process of determining the cause of the accident," stated a representative from the Venus Police Department.
Venus PD is investigating the crash.
