Irving Residents Can Give Input on Proposed Irving Bike Plan

The City of Irving is developing a citywide bicycle plan and needs community feedback from cyclists, drivers, joggers and anyone interested in the project. The proposed Irving Bike Plan is available for online comments through April 28. The definitions for the proposed Bicycle Facilities are available online and feature graphic depictions of the bicycle lane categories. This project is part of a regional alliance with the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Texas Department of Transportation.

The proposed Irving Bike Plan identifies a comprehensive on-street network for bicycle travel, featuring inclusive facilities for all ages and abilities and establish planned connections to the surrounding cities. The final Bike Plan also will identify priority corridors for implementation and determine methodologies for providing safe bicycle travel from existing facilities and trails to additional areas of the city. Additionally, the final Bike Plan will identify high-level opinions of probable cost to implement the short-term and long-term project lists and phasing plans, which will contribute to the recommended policies and funding strategies to be detailed in the Bike Plan.
