In December 2023, the Plano Police Department launched a public appeal seeking assistance in identifying a suspected individual involved in stealing packages from residential porches. Following extensive forensic analysis, detective work, and active community participation, the perpetrator has been identified as Michael McCloud, a 37-year-old Plano resident.
The breakthrough in the case came after thorough investigation and collaboration within the community. The Plano Police Vehicle Crimes Unit meticulously compiled evidence linking McCloud to the thefts. Consequently, a search and arrest warrant were issued by the courts.
McCloud stands accused of not only stealing packages but also breaking into vehicles. The culmination of efforts by law enforcement and community members led to his apprehension.
During a search of McCloud's residence, detectives successfully recovered the stolen package, which notably contained a charming cat shirt. Through further investigation, the rightful owner of the package was identified, and the detective involved personally delivered the re-wrapped stolen item to them.
McCloud now faces charges related to package theft and vehicle break-ins.
