Two Women Killed in Head-On Collision in Killeen

On February 23, 2024, tragedy struck in Killeen as two women lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision. At approximately 12:11 a.m., Killeen Police Officers rushed to the scene of a vehicle crash in the 2800 block of E. Rancier Ave.

Upon arrival, officers were met with a harrowing sight. A Maroon Kia Telluride was engulfed in flames, with a deceased female driver trapped inside. Meanwhile, a white Cadillac, the second vehicle involved, bore the brunt of the impact.

The Killeen Fire Department moved to extricate the female driver of the Cadillac, who was then airlifted to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the white Cadillac, traveling westbound on Rancier, veered across the center line into the eastbound inside lane, leading to the fatal collision with the Kia. Authorities suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.

The driver of the Kia, 33-year-old Diane Cintron, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 12:33 a.m. The 20-year-old driver of the Cadillac, identified as Taeler Greenleaf, was pronounced deceased at Baylor Scott and White Hospital by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey at 2:20 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
