High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest After Dramatic Pursuit

Last night, at approximately 8:30 pm, a vehicle was spotted by a Sansom Park Traffic Officer traveling at a dangerously high speed of 98 mph east on Azle Avenue. The vehicle narrowly avoided colliding with another vehicle, posing a serious threat to public safety due to its reckless maneuvering.

Upon attempting to pull the vehicle over, the driver failed to comply and instead fled west on Azle Avenue. The vehicle eventually came to a halt in the 5700 block, where law enforcement initiated a felony traffic stop. However, the driver evaded arrest once more, fleeing west on Azle.

In a dramatic turn of events, the vehicle entered the premises of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), circling back onto Azle Avenue multiple times before speeding off eastbound on 820. Due to the high speeds reached by the fleeing vehicle, officers made the decision to terminate their pursuit.

Despite the unsuccessful attempt to stop the vehicle, law enforcement managed to obtain the license plate information and subsequently traced it back to the registered owner's residence. Upon arrival, officers witnessed the suspect exiting the vehicle and promptly ordered them to the ground.

Resisting arrest, the suspect engaged in a brief struggle with law enforcement before being successfully apprehended without any injuries sustained by either party. The suspect was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest in a vehicle. Additionally, the suspect's vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.
