Dallas Man Found Guilty in DWI Case, Receives 10-Year Prison Sentence and $10,000 Fine

Byron Nelson

In a recent case, the State faced off against 41-year-old Byron Nelson in a trial for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) 3rd or More. The prosecution team, led by Harley Anagnostis with Gabriela Sanchez in the 2nd chair, presented a solid case alongside DA Investigator Aleciah Taylor and DA Legal Assistant Mildred Gibbs.

The defendant had a previous history, having served a prison sentence for DWI 3rd or More. However, in June of 2022, Byron Nelson was once again behind the wheel while intoxicated. Tragically, he collided with a young mother who had her toddler in the backseat, causing severe damage to the vehicle by shattering the back windows and crushing the rear.

After due deliberation, the verdict was delivered: GUILTY. Byron Nelson was sentenced to 10 years in prison along with a $10,000 fine for the DWI incident.
