On December 19, 2023, at around 7:00 pm, Irving Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Deluxe Inn located on the 1400 block of E. Airport Fwy, near the Carl Road intersection next to McDonald's. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 35-year-old man, identified as Matthew R. Legan, who had sustained stab wounds. Emergency medical assistance was provided on-site, and Legan was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
During their investigation at the scene, law enforcement officials arrested 34-year-old Monique Michea Legans from North Irving. Legans faces charges of domestic violence aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
