Irving Traffic Stop Results in Arrest of Man with Warrants for Vehicle Theft and Aggravated Robbery

On the evening of January 1, 2024, an Irving Police Officer conducted a routine traffic stop after observing a driver failing to signal a turn. The driver, initially refusing to identify himself, later provided a false name during the interaction. Through further investigation, the officer determined the individual to be 25-year-old Jorge Chavez.

Upon identification, it was revealed that Chavez had two open warrants issued by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. The warrants were related to charges of vehicle theft and aggravated robbery. Subsequently, Chavez was charged with failure to identify as a fugitive. As of now, no bond has been set in connection with the charges and remains in the Irving Jail.
