In the morning of December 20, 2023, an Irving Police Officer spotted a man jaywalking, leading to an unexpected turn of events. The individual, identified as 22-year-old Mekiah Asante Morgan, a resident of Irving, was stopped by the officer.
Upon questioning, the officer discovered that Morgan was in possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. Subsequent investigation revealed that Morgan was wanted in Dallas, with an aggravated robbery warrant issued by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
Morgan was taken into custody and is currently held on a $100,000 bond. The Irving Police Department is working in conjunction with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office to ensure the legal proceedings move forward accordingly.
