In a tragic incident on Sunday evening, December 4, 2023, 12-year-old Dameon McLean Jr. from Irving was struck by a car while riding his bike. The accident occurred during his journey home from McDonald's on Walnut Hill Ln and Pleasant Run Rd in North Irving.
As the parents remain by his side during this difficult time, MMIW Texas Rematriate has taken initiative by organizing a GoFundMe campaign to support the McLean family. The funds raised aim to assist the family in managing their financial burdens and maintaining their household responsibilities, particularly for the well-being of the rest of their children.
MMIW, standing for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, is an organization dedicated to supporting and searching for missing relatives.
UPDATE: Dameon succumed to his injuries on December 12th.
